Angelina Jolie is an international superstar. From modeling to appearing in music videos, to playing various characters in films to direction, she has done it all. Winning an Academy Award, two SAG Awards and three Golden Globes, she is truly a global artist. She is also known for her humanitarian works across the globe. Her love for cinema was instilled by her parents, her father, Jon Voight, himself having a successful hollywood career.

Before venturing professionally into films, she worked in a few music videos and television shows. Her first film, where she played lead was the science fiction sequel, Cyborg 2 in 1993. This film did not help to augment her career. After this she appeared in a supporting role in an independent film Without Evidence. But it was her first Hollywood film, Hackers in 1995, which was her breakthrough film. She was so praised for her performance. After this she did many successful films, which includes, Love Is All There Is, Mojave Moon, Foxfire, Playing God and True Women. In 1997, her career began to improve, when she won the Golden globe Award for her performance in George Wallace. Next year, she did another wonderful and successful film Gia, for which she again won the Golden Globe Award.

She then appeared in The Bone Collector in 1999, in which she played a young patrol cop. Her performance received critical acclaim, and established her as a one of the bankable actresses of Hollywood. She then subsequently appeared in a slew of successful films like Girl, Interrupted, Gone in 60 Seconds, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider and Alexander. One movie gave her the global recognition and fame was her role alongside Brad Pitt in the film Mr. And Mrs. Smith in 2005. After this she delivered many commercially successful films, including A Mighty Heart in 2007, Changeling in 2008, Wanted in 2008, Salt in 2010 and The Tourist.

Angelina Jolie recently was seen in Disney’s dark fantasy film, Maleficent, which was a blockbuster around the world. She played the villainess character in this film. She was also one of the producers of the this film. The film become the fourth highest-grossing film of 2014. The film also received an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design. Her another movie last year which was the blockbuster, was Unbroken. She herself directed this film. This film was named as one of the best films of the year by the National Board of Review and the American Film Institute.
