Choosing the Best Transportation From LAX to Hollywood

51

Hollywood  is about 24 miles from Los Angeles Airport but the trip can take more than an hour if there’s traffic. So choosing the right transportation is very crucial. There are a number of transportation options you can choose from. The decision of course, will depend on how fast you want to get to  Hollywood , your budget, and your overall convenience.

Public Transportation

Los Angeles has a pretty solid public transportation system which you can manage to survive as long as you have all the preparation you need and the much needed directions. One way to get to  Hollywood  is to take the LAX Fly Away Shuttle to Union Station. The shuttles are available seven days a week. In order to catch a ride, go to the Lower/Arrivals level in front of each terminal. Look for the sign that says “FlyAway, Buses and Long Distance Vans”. Board the bus which says “Union Station”. This trip will only cost $7. Once you arrive at the Union Station, head for the metro subway, and take the Red line. You can de-board on the  Hollywood /Highland stop which will take you to the center of  Hollywood  Blvd.

Taxi Cab

If you do not have the patience to endure a public transportation, then taking a taxi cab is another option. With taxi cabs, you don’t have to worry too much about directions. This is a pretty simple process to follow. But let’s consider the total cost. The flat rate from LAX to downtown is $42. This doesn’t include tolls, airport surcharges, and tip. There is a $2.50 surcharge for trips originating at LAX. And then add the tip of about 10 or 15%, so you can actually end up paying $70-$80 for the whole trip.

Town Car Service

Hiring a town car service is probably the easiest and most convenient way to travel. But there is one thing that will keep you from taking this option-the price. To compare the price between the cab and town car service, the difference is not entirely huge. You can book a reservation from LAX to  Hollywood  for a flat rate. Flat rates can vary depending on the company, but price may range from $80-$95 plus 20% gratuity. There will probably a $20 dollar difference. You can research online for the best company with a lower rate and make a reservation. This will give you the peace of mind knowing that the driver will greet and meet you at the airport, and take you to  Hollywood  safely and comfortably.

These three modes of transportation can surely get you to  Hollywood . You are the ones who decide how you want to get there. Are you willing to exert more effort in order to spend as little as possible in transportation? Or are you the type of person who values security and comfort on top of everything else?
