Financial Management – Doing the Maths

Another comrades marathon is over, congratulations to all people who made it, and those who had the courage, persistence and commitment to try, congratulations to all people mad enough to slap tar, month after month, street after street in search of pushing your body, mind and sole to make it over the finish line. The ‘experts’ say that if you jog for 30 minutes every day from age 25 to age 65 you will add an extra 2 years to your life.

Dude, do the math it is going to take you two years and three months of your life if you follow ‘expert’ advice.

Every way we turn, everywhere we go there is yet another myth about financial health. Every politician, banker, CFP and financial advisor keeps telling us the same old song; compound interest and capital growth is the way to early retirement and the healthy road to riches yet only 1% of the world’s population will retire with any sort of wealth. However we continue to slap the same tar, on the same road with no end in site ignorant of our birthright of wealth, riches and enjoying life in all its abundance.

The “Safe” road offered by traditional financial management and retirement plans often fail in spectacular fashion, you only have to look at the statistics. 80% of the time you have a better chance of losing your money than actually making any. (The rule of 72 can easily explain this) Everyone has the power to take control and responsibility of your wealth and destiny. Yet so few people run the road of success and wealth and follow the ‘experts’!

No-one runs a race without planning, commitment and dedication to the cause, your race is not free yet banks, financial houses, and financial planners continue to advice for “free”, however if you eat for free everyday you will only get the crumbs which is how the economic and banking system is set up. It is about feeding you the crumbs while they dine on lobster and caviar everyday. Only a cheapskate eats for free everyday and if you fail to educate and seek wisdom about your wealth you will lose not 3 months but months and months of your life jogging the road to your job long after you deserve to have reached the finish line.

You have to throw away the free lunch and take control and responsibility of your destiny and wealth. Yes learning the tricks to create enough wealth to set you free from economic dependence on the system will require some effort and the right road map.

But it doesn’t have to be a comrades’ marathon.
