Color has therapeutic effects. Psychologists have also agreed that color does influence the psychological reactions of individuals and physicians have used colors to treat patients. How do colors influence  health ?

  • Colored liquids, cloth, gems, light have been used to bring desired  health  changes. People wear jewelry of specific color stones to improve their  health . Light is used for soothing effects. A soft tone can reduce headaches and make you relax. A bright colored light can make you feel more cheerful and happy. On happy events people use bright red and yellow lights which indicates a mood of happiness
  • In Ayurveda, practitioners use colored light and fabric to heal energy imbalances which form the basis of specific  health  problems
  • Soft blues or greens are meant to treat angry and frustrated people. Yellow, orange and gold calms down anxious people. Bright red and orange cheers up depressed people
  • In a spa the body is wrapped in a specific color to improve  health 
  • Fruits and vegetables of different colors also influence  health . Pigmented fruits and vegetables contain disease-fighting compounds called phytonutrients. The red in tomato reduces the risk in heart diseases. The yellow found in corn protects you against muscular degeneration, which causes blindness. Similarly there are many other colored fruits and vegetables which have a positive effect on  health 
  • Colored fruits and vegetables contain antioxidants which reduce the overall cellular damage and prevent the hardening of the arteries that can cause heart disease, stroke and memory loss as well
  • Yellow and Orange colored sweet potatoes, mango pumpkin, melon corn etc contain carotenoids, which reduce the risk of developing cancer. Green vegetables such as broccoli and spinach have high quantities of lutein, which keep the vision sharp and clear. Other colored fruits and vegetables have much to offer

It is quite obvious that colors do affect  health . One can go in for color that suits one’s  health . Color is used to treat people. Many wear certain colors to maintain better  health .
