iTunes keeps crashing. Problem? You’ve got a number of issues and problems with the settings of your PC. The issue you’re experiencing is that Windows will likely not be able to process the files and options that will be used to help make sure that your system is able to process iTunes as correctly as possible. You must remember that iTunes is one of the most COMPLICATED programs available for your system today, and as a result it’s continually causing a large number of problems with your PC. The good news is that it’s almost impossible to *not* fix iTunes, and so in order to repair the problems you’re experiencing, you can follow the steps in this guide:
Step 1 – Re-Install iTunes
The most important step is to re-install iTunes, as this will refresh many of the files and settings that can often cause problems for your system. In order to do this, you should look to follow the steps outlined here:
- Click “Start”
- Click “Control Panel”
- Click “Add / Remove Programs”
This will allow you to select iTunes and remove it from your system, thus enabling your system to read the files and settings that it needs to run. After uninstalling iTunes, re-install the program and see if it crashes again. This is great, especially for beginners, as it means that you’ll not have any problems with the iTunes files again.
Step 2 – Clean Out The Registry of Windows
The “registry” is one of the main causes of problems for iTunes. This is a large database that all Windows computers use to store the likes of your Internet options, most recent settings and other important details. We’ve found that one of the biggest causes of problems for your PC is that the registry database will become damaged / corrupted, and consequently will be unable to run as smoothly as possible. We’ve found that one of the biggest problems for many Windows systems is that the registry database will not be able to run as smoothly as possible, leading the likes of iTunes to crash.
We recommend using a program called “Frontline Registry Cleaner 2.0” to scan through your computer and fix any of the registry errors that it may have inside. From my clients’ PCs, we’ve found that this is the most effective & reliable way to resolve iTunes crashes, and so it’s what we now use to help make sure your PC is able to run smoothly again.
